Three-hour open-fire cooking class with wild game on a working farm outside Bozeman
Bodhi Farms is a 35-acre farm resort on Cottonwood Road, south of Bozeman, with glamping tipis, a spa and the Field Kitchen restaurant. The restaurant serves wild game and produce from the farm's own gardens. The farm's cooking class is the Farm-To-Fire Culinary Class, a three-hour, hands-on session led by its culinary team.
The class is all about open fire. You cook in dutch ovens, ash-roast, grill and cedar-plank, and you learn how different flavors work with wild game. Fire snacks come first, then a communal feast cooked entirely over flames and paired with regional wines. Water, iced tea and huckleberry lemonade are included. Other beer and wine costs extra, but your first round is free.
The class runs in summer and fall, with dates still to be announced. Each one takes 6 to 12 guests at $150 per person. It's open to every skill level, so beginners and confident home cooks can share a fire. Companies and families can also add cooking to a private retreat or gathering at the farm.
