Seasonal, farm-fresh classes in a founder-run teaching kitchen on Battle Creek Rd
Lovr Kitchen, short for Lily of the Valley Ranch Kitchen, is a teaching kitchen at 84974 Battle Creek Rd. in Eugene. Founder Sydney trained in culinary arts at Lane Community College. She cooked at The Circle Bar Ranch in Montana and with the Eugene Mission's Hospitality Kitchen, and she has taught cooking classes since 2002. The focus is nutritious food made with farm fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
Classes rotate with the seasons and run 2.5 to 3 hours, with time to eat together afterward. Recent summer titles include Asian BBQ Fusion Feast and Coastal Flavors Class. The kitchen also plans classes on food preservation, canning, mushroom foraging and honey making, plus seminars with local farmers and beekeepers. Guest chefs from the community teach too.
Small groups can book a custom class for 1 to 6 people on a date they choose. The same option works for a private event or corporate team-building. Classes are generally for ages 16 and up. Some youth workshops take ages 10 to 15 when a guardian comes along.
