West Chester school since 2008 where every guest cooks a full meal at their own station
The Learning Kitchen is a locally owned school on Cox Lane in West Chester, teaching hands-on classes since 2008. The rule here is no group cooking. Every guest gets a personal station with two induction burners, preps their own ingredients and eats a full portion of what they made. Most classes run about two hours: an appetizer or salad first, then the entree and sides, eaten together at the dining tables.
The chef roster is large and varied. Chef Timmy Kirk brings techniques from years of cooking across Asia. Chef Madhu Sinha teaches Indian cooking from scratch. Chef Rashid Hattar is a classically trained pastry chef and chocolatier, and Chef Tres Bernard draws on Mississippi Delta roots. Menus run from homemade pasta and French cuisine to fermentation and street food.
In Date Night classes two adults share one cooktop, and the listed price covers both. There are Kids classes for ages 8 to 16, parent-child classes, summer camps and private events for groups of 8 to 48. Wine and craft beer are sold by the glass, and the Kitchen Boutique sells the tools you use in class.
