Family cooking school in Fort Wayne with classes for preschoolers, kids, teens and adults
Wholesome Roots Cooking is a family-focused cooking school in Fort Wayne. Founder Meghan Hauser is a mother of six who learned to win over picky eaters at home. Classes are split by age: Caregiver and Me for young children, Kids 6-12, Teens, Adults and a Homeschool track. The focus is healthy, hands-on cooking that kids can carry into everyday meals.
Most classes run in the teaching kitchen at 14411 Lima Road. Others take place at Salomon Farm through a partnership with Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation. The calendar mixes kids' dishes like Chicken Stir-Fry and Skillet Hash and Pancakes with adult sessions on Asian cuisine, Thanksgiving sides and cookie making. In December the schedule fills with Gingerbread House Decorating sessions.
Private events cover date nights, girls nights, adult birthdays and family nights. The school provides ingredients and supplies and handles the cleanup. Companies can book team challenges such as salsa making or cookie decorating. Both kinds of event need at least two weeks' notice.
