About this class
Japan’s history of Izakaya dates back over 250 years, when sake shops and brewers started preparing snacks for guests. The shops quickly morphed into gathering spots for the neighborhood. As these delicious offerings evolved from table snacks to elaborate dishes, the heart of the Izakaya remains the place to connect and celebrate community.
