Culinary Institute of America classes in a historic stone winery building in St. Helena
CIA at Greystone is the Napa Valley campus of the Culinary Institute of America, a not-for-profit culinary college founded in 1946. It sits in St. Helena in a landmark building once known as Greystone Cellars Winery, with cathedral ceilings, hand-cut stone walls and vineyard views. Students train here, and the college also opens its kitchens to home cooks.
Through its CIA for Food Enthusiasts program, the college runs hands-on classes taught by CIA chefs. You can choose a multi-day Boot Camp or a single-day class. Classes are open to all levels, from people learning to fry an egg to experienced home chefs.
Groups can book a private cooking class or wine tasting, chosen from a menu of the most popular classes. CIA pitches these for team building and big celebrations. For private classes in California, you submit a request online or call 707-967-2417. The campus also hosts private events and weddings, and its restaurants are run by students and faculty.
