Ernie's Smokehouse BBQ Inc.

Ernie's Smokehouse is a Charlotte BBQ caterer and pickup business, home of Ernie's BBQ, that also runs grilling classes at your house. There is no classroom. The team comes to your home, brings the food and teaches on your own gas grill, charcoal, pellet or wood cooker, or smoker. Each class covers one appetizer, one main dish, one side and one dessert, chosen around what your group wants to cook better. Classes run 2 to 2.5 hours.

Classes are private, with a minimum of four people. You pay per person: $125 each for four, $120 each for five, and $110 each for groups of 6 to 30. Food is extra, billed at actual cost with receipts. You supply plates, utensils and drinks. Most classes run Monday to Wednesday nights and book 4 to 6 weeks out.

It suits a backyard party with friends or coworkers, or a gift for someone who wants to get better at outdoor cooking. Kids under 12 can't attend. You can also find Ernie's BBQ at the Matthews Farmer's Market on Saturdays. The business holds a 4.7 Google rating from 12 reviews.
