How long is a class and what's included?

Classes last about 3 hours. You get participation instruction, 3 to 5 menu items, wine and Pellegrino, with techniques and tips worked in throughout.

About Just Simply... Cuisine

Just Simply... Cuisine is a home teaching kitchen in Woodley Park, at 3224 Cathedral Ave NW. Chris Coppola Leibner founded it in 1995. The school runs on an organic backyard garden and a clear food ethic: cook fresh, local and seasonal, and know where your food comes from.

Classes are hands-on and open to all skill levels. Each one runs about three hours. You cook 3 to 5 menu items, and the techniques and tips come up as you go. Wine and Pellegrino are included. The current sign-up class is Fall Seasonal, $120, on Saturday, October 31 at 10 am.

The kitchen practices what it teaches. It has no microwave, avoids non-stick pans and composts food scraps in its teaching gardens. The school encourages guests to take the nearby Metro.
