La victoria healing kitchen is a community kitchen at 1427 Elmira Street in the Aurora Arts & Cultural District. Its focus is food as a way to stay healthy and to bring cultures together. The calendar mixes culinary classes, wellness workshops and cultural events. It runs four class types, aimed at people who want more confidence in the kitchen, people who want to learn something new, and people who mostly come for the company.
Classes are hands-on and open to every level, including cooks who can't boil water yet. Most cost around $65 per person or $120 per couple. The cultural side includes the Diasporic Film & Food Series with Askkanwii Film Productions. One edition, A Seat at Our Table, celebrated the musician Laba Sosseh. The kitchen also runs kids summer camps.
The room seats 24 at large community tables, with space for 32 seated or 45 standing. That makes it a good fit for team-building, dinner parties and celebrations. Google reviewers rate it 4.6 from 18 reviews.
