Multi-week courses and boot camps
The Culinary School of Fort Worth is a vocational culinary school. It does not run one-night cooking classes. Its main offering is a 9-month Professional Culinary Certificate Program taught in commercial kitchens at 6550 Camp Bowie Blvd. Cohorts start in February, June and September. Students choose a morning session (8:00 AM to 1:00 PM) or an evening session (4:00 PM to 9:00 PM). Each cohort has a maximum of 20 students.
Training covers both savory and pastry, so students don't have to choose one track. Outside daily kitchen work, students go on four or five field trips, plan and run three Friends and Family events, enter competitions and complete an externship. The school is accredited by ACCET and approved by the Texas Workforce Commission. It reports a 79.5% job placement rate for 2021 to 2022.
Applicants must be at least 17. They pay a $25 application fee and submit an essay, a recommendation letter and a Texas Food Handler Certificate. Campus tours run Monday to Friday. The school has a 4.7 Google rating from 56 reviews.
