ZWILLING Cooking Studio is the knife maker's own teaching kitchen. It sits on Marble Avenue in Pleasantville, about 40 minutes from New York City. Classes are hands-on and take no more than 18 students. You split into small groups, cook a multi-course meal together, then sit down and eat what you made. The studio sells wine and beer.
Knife skills are the specialty, which fits a company that has made knives since 1731. Basic Knife Skills Class runs regularly. The rest of the calendar covers a lot of ground: sushi in "From Rice to Roll," Paris Bistro, Chinese Take Out 2.0, Moroccan, Florentine Cuisine, and pastry classes on choux and macarons. November brings Thanksgiving classes on sides and desserts.
Evening classes suit couples and friends, and some are themed as Date Night or Girls Night Out. The studio also hosts private parties, birthdays and corporate team building. Kids 9 and older can join regular classes with a parent. Kids camps run in summer and around the winter holidays.
