Cookin Around the World is a kids' cooking program at 6555 Balboa Avenue in San Diego, led by Chef Stef. The mission is clear: teach young people basic kitchen skills while they learn to appreciate other countries and cultures, one dish at a time. The curriculum follows the California Department of Education's Primer of Basic Kitchen Skills, so safety, measuring, following a recipe and cleaning up come first.
Most of the teaching happens through camps, after-school programs and workshops in schools. The summer 2026 camp weeks had themes like Pizza World Tour, The Noodle Lab, Global Kneads and a fan favorite, Hogwarts Culinary Adventure. Some camps mix cooking with Spanish and Mandarin immersion, and one camp series ran at La Jolla Country Day School for grades 5 to 8. Weekly summer classes were split into ages 6 to 11 and teens 12 to 17, and there was also a Parent and Me Cupcake Class.
