Hands-on Indian cooking with Meghna Agarwal in her own San Francisco home kitchen
Crimson Kitchen is Meghna Agarwal's home kitchen at 41 Newburg Street in San Francisco. She teaches hands-on Indian cooking to small groups there. Her father's family is from Lucknow and her mother's is from Bihar, and she cooks dishes from all over India. She has also been a guest instructor at San Francisco Cooking School, Kitchen on Fire, 18 Reasons and The Civic Kitchen.
The group class runs 3.5 hours for up to 10 people. After you book, you and Meghna pick one of four menus. Traditional has Paneer Tikka, Shahi Korma and Gobi Fry. Weekday has Vegetable Pakoras, Dal Fry and Karahi Chicken. There are also Gluten Free and Vegan menus. Spices get a lot of attention, and reviewers like the cultural background she shares. Beer, wine, non-alcoholic drinks and naan are included, and at the end everyone sits down together to eat.
Private classes for 1 to 12 people come with a menu built just for you, and there are team building sessions too. Complete beginners and professional chefs have cooked in the same class. On Google it has 5 stars from 36 reviews.
