Culinary Artistas is a kitchen studio at 851 Beach Street. It sits on the street level of Ghirardelli Square and faces the water. Vanessa Silva, who grew up in Brazil, started it in 2016 with kids in mind. Children's programs are still the core: weekday camps from 9am to 3pm, birthday parties and school programs. It is a certified Woman and Minority Business Enterprise and has a 4.9 Google rating from 42 reviews.
Adult public classes are for ages 18 and up. Each one starts with a welcome reception and a chef demo. Then everyone cooks as a group and shares the meal at a communal table. You leave with one to three new recipes. The studio calls its teaching style intuitive cooking, which is meant to give you the confidence to cook on your own. Classes are BYOB with no corkage fee.
Families can book Plate Dates, a family class for all ages that usually runs once a month on a Sunday. Companies book hands-on team events at the studio or virtual classes. One option is the Farm-to-Fork Cooking Challenge.
