Farm Fusion in the Kitchen is a teaching kitchen on a working ranch on Cattlemans Road in northern Fort Collins. Chef Dawn Broeder grew up cooking for farm crews in Waverly, Colorado. She taught family and consumer sciences in Colorado high schools, earned certificates in Classic Culinary Arts and Cheese Making, and opened the kitchen in 2018.
The calendar leans on from-scratch skills. Sourdough workshops run often, and you leave the Thanksgiving Sourdough class with an active starter and a hand-shaped boule. Cheese classes cover mozzarella, burrata, cheddar and cheese curds. Evening dinners range from lobster ravioli at Date Night: Italian Romance to French pork chops with crème brûlée, Vietnamese pho and cast iron Southern comfort food.
Classes are capped at 12 people. At dinner classes you sit down to eat what you cooked and the staff does the dishes. The kitchen holds a liquor license and sells optional drink pairings, so outside alcohol isn't allowed. Private classes run about three hours for groups of up to 12.
