Pie-shop teaching kitchen in a historic Fort Collins mill, with global evening classes
The Teaching Kitchen, or "TK," is the class space inside Ginger and Baker, a bakery, market, café and steakhouse in a historic Fort Collins grain mill. Ginger Graham and Chef Deb Traylor started it as a dream of a little pie shop, and pie still runs through the schedule. The Pie Masterclass teaches the secrets behind G&B's famous pies, and Sweet Rolls covers the house cinnamon rolls.
The rest of the calendar ranges widely: Xi'An Biang Biang Noodles, Dim Sum, Plant-Based Thai, Tuscan Cooking, Beef Wellington, and French Cooking and Conversation, which mixes classic French treats with some basic French. Each class has a chef instructor and an assistant, and you cook at tables of four to six. The staff do the cleanup, and you can order food and drinks from the Café and bar menu during class.
There are also cocktail nights, kids' holiday classes, crafting sessions and a monthly food book club. Private classes cover birthdays, showers and team events. Popular classes sell out, so book early.
