Private-group Cuban cooking, cocktails and salsa in a Miami home with a backyard
Flavors of Miami runs group cooking and cultural experiences from a private home and backyard. The focus is Cuban food. Aurora Vicente co-founded the company and does most of the cooking. She was born in La Maya, in Santiago de Cuba, moved to Miami at 9 and grew up mostly in Little Havana. Her recipes come from her parents and grandparents. Co-founder Annette Morejon is a Miami native who spent more than 20 years guiding tours.
The Traditional Cuban Cooking Class teaches dishes from scratch, and all ingredients are provided. The Cuban Desserts Class covers three sweets, including Tres Leches and Flan. You can also learn mojitos and daiquiris before a beginner salsa lesson, make lasagne and tiramisu with an Aperol Spritz, or take a 4-session series that pairs Latin recipes with Spanish lessons. A private Little Havana food tour along Calle Ocho is offered too.
Every experience is booked by a group, with a minimum of 6 or 10 guests depending on the experience. It earns a 5 rating from 8 Google reviews.
