My Cooking Party runs hosted cooking events for private groups and companies. It has two loft kitchens on the 9th and 10th floors of 130 West 29th Street, close to Chelsea and NoMad. It has been doing this for more than 20 years, and the party matters as much as the cooking. There are no long lectures. Guests cook for about an hour and fifteen minutes. Then they sit down to a three course meal that the chefs plate and the staff serve. Adults get house wine included.
The formats set it apart. The MCP Program is a straightforward class with dinner. Battle of the Bites splits guests into teams that invent hors d'oeuvres for judging. The Dinner Duel gives each team two proteins, two veggies and two starches, no recipes and 90 minutes. Pizza and pasta making are popular picks too.
It suits birthdays, bridal showers, bachelorettes and office outings far better than solo cooks looking for a seat. Kids and teens get their own parties and a summer camp. It holds a 4.9 Google rating from 57 reviews.

Yes. There is a large standard menu plus specialty themed menus covering African, Asian Fusion, French, Hispanic, Italian and Lebanese cooking, as well as pasta, pizza and sushi.
One loft holds 65 guests for a seated meal or 80 for cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. Using both lofts together, a single group of up to 120 can cook on one floor and dine on the other.
Private and corporate programs run from $159 per person for hors d'oeuvres formats up to $229 per person for Shop, Drop & Roll with a catered meal, plus a 20% administrative fee.
