Chef Robbie Rensel's private lessons and Iron Chef team challenges, at your place or his
Savory Celebration is Chef Robbie Rensel's Houston events and cooking education company, established in 2012. There is no storefront classroom. Chef Robbie comes to your home, office or a partner venue, and he also hosts at The Luxury Tree House in River Oaks. His best-known event is Iron Chef team building. Teams get a surprise ingredient and a pantry, ten minutes to plan, then one hour to cook an entrée and two sides before he judges the results.
Cooking lessons are private, either one-on-one or with your own group, from $150 per person. He shapes each lesson around your level and covers knife skills, heat control, seasoning, sauces and timing. Example classes include Steakhouse Secrets, French foundations with mother sauces and coq au vin, fresh pasta and risotto, baking basics and sushi. Lessons can also cover cooking for college or what a career as a private chef involves.
It suits couples, friend groups and companies that want a chef-led event built around them, more than solo cooks hoping to book a single seat. Google reviewers rate it 4.9 from 38 reviews.
