Sur La Table at Rookwood Commons holds its cooking classes in a teaching kitchen inside the cookware store. You cook in a group of four at a shared, fully equipped workstation while a chef instructor guides the room. Classes are hands-on and usually last 2 to 2½ hours. Everyone tastes generous portions family-style at the end, and the recipes arrive by email so you can make them again at home.
The calendar leans toward baking and technique. Recent listings include The Art of the Croissant: Sweet and Savory, Rustic Homemade Breads, Perfect Stuffed Pasta and a cast iron class run with Le Creuset.
