Team Pasta is Jane Pellicciotto's traveling pasta class. She brings the boards, flour and tools to your home, office or event space around Portland. She doesn't host classes in a space of her own. The focus is rustic southern Italian shapes made from only semolina and water, with no eggs and no hand-cranked machines. In 1.5 to 2 hours your group learns 3 to 4 shapes, and each person makes enough pasta for about two people. One past guest's favorite shape was the sombreros.
Jane learned these shapes in southern Italy. She used to serve on the board of Slow Food Portland and has written for the Portland Farmers Market blog. Reviewers say the method is easier than they expected, and they like how well she works with mixed age groups.
A class costs $425 for six people. That covers instruction, supplies, Bob's Red Mill flour, sauce recipes, a light seasonal snack and a bottle of Prosecco. Each extra person is $40, and a sauce and salad add-on is $65. Team Pasta holds a 5 rating from 5 Google reviews.
