Wilton's baking and cake-decorating school at its Naperville headquarters
The Wilton Sweet Studio teaches baking and decorating at the company's headquarters, 535 Diehl Road in Naperville. Each student works at their own station with an individual set of tools. Ingredients, supplies and aprons are provided, and you take home what you make in boxes the studio supplies.
The classes center on decorating. Cake Decorating Basics covers leveling layers, crumb coats and piping, and Fondant Basics, Macaron Basics and cookie decorating with buttercream or royal icing follow. Bake Your Best Cake teaches beginner baking, and seasonal classes include Easy as Apple Pie, a Pumpkin Spice Swiss Roll and a Bûche de Noël.
Family Fun sessions, such as cake pops, and Kids Camps for ages 8 to 12 cover younger bakers. For experienced bakers there is a two-day pastry intensive on croissants and éclairs, plus a Masters Series.
