Cooking school · Boston
Milk Street's cooking school is in the same downtown Boston building, 177 Milk Street, where Christopher Kimball's magazine, TV show and radio show are made. Most of the teaching happens online. The school runs 3 to 5 livestream events a week on Zoom. Classes last about 75 minutes and you can cook along or just watch. Small Group Workshops are capped at 25 people, and Intensives run over three sessions.
In-person classes happen now and then and last 2.5 to 3 hours. Each one includes hands-on cooking, demos and a full meal. Many are guest-author evenings, such as Özlem Warren cooking recipes from Istanbul or Leah Koenig making a dessert table. Staff instructors like April Dodd and Rosie Gill teach a lot of the calendar, which leans heavily toward baking.
For groups, private hands-on classes with a family-style dinner take up to 18 people. Demo-style events take up to 30. Multi-day retreats travel to other locations. The school has a 4 rating on Google from 81 reviews.
