Finnish baking and cooking, including korvapuustit (cinnamon-cardamom rolls), pulla, ruisleipä (sourdough rye bread), karjalanpiirakat (Karelian pastries), cardamom cookies, leipäjuusto (squeaky breadcheese), lohikeitto (salmon soup) and joulutortut (Christmas prune pinwheel tarts).

Where do classes take place?

About Luumu

Luumu is a small Finnish culture business run by Elizabeth "Helvi" Brauer. She is a fluent Finnish speaker and teacher who has taught at Suomi-Koulu and the Finnish American Folk School in Hancock, MI. Cooking is one part of her work. She also teaches crafts like knitting and birch-bark weaving, plus Finnish and Swedish language lessons.
