Cooks of Crocus Hill is a locally owned kitchen store that has taught cooking for over 50 years. Its North Loop shop at 210 N 1st St, near the Mississippi River, is one of its two cooking schools. The flagship store and the other school are on Grand Ave in St. Paul.
Every class is labeled Participation, where you cook, or Demonstration, where you watch a chef. The November lineup in Minneapolis includes Katie Elsing's Holiday Cookie Bake on the Sunday after Thanksgiving and a Soter Vineyards biodynamic wine session. Across both schools the menu covers breads, croissants, desserts, technique, global cuisines, Italian cooking with Casa Artusi, kids and teen classes, and coffee, spirits and wine. Featured classes run $99 to $125.
Beyond public classes, the North Loop kitchen hosts private events for up to 40 guests, from team-building to birthdays. Chefs also offer one-on-one culinary coaching. The store sells cookware, and its gift cards work for classes too. It holds a 4.5 rating from 328 Google reviews.
