Cooking school · Eden Prairie, MN
Eden Prairie cooking school for kids and adults since 2004, with seasonal lefse classes
Way Cool Cooking School has run cooking events in the Twin Cities since 2004, with kitchens in Eden Prairie and St. Paul. The Eden Prairie school is at 16544 W 78th St, in a strip mall with Caribou and Kowalski's Market. Much of the calendar is kids' classes, summer camps, birthday parties and corporate team building. Adults 16 and up can also book a seat in evening classes.
Adult classes run two hours, cost $107.36 and cap at 12 to 18 students. You work in small groups of 4 to 6 at shared stations, then sit down to eat what you made for dinner. Recent menus include scallion pancakes and teriyaki chicken robata in Asian Street Food, naan and palak paneer in Taste of India, and parmesan crusted fish with shrimp po' boy sliders in a pan frying class.
The holiday classes stand out. Guest chef Rachael Largis, known as "The Queen of Lefse," teaches lefse from scratch, and you take home a dozen. Each menu lists its allergens and allows no substitutions, so check before you book.
