Way Cool Cooking School has run cooking events for kids and adults in the Twin Cities since 2004. It has kitchens in St. Paul and Eden Prairie and works as both a school and an event venue. Public classes are split by age. Adult classes are for 16 and up, kids classes are for ages 7 to 15, and parent-and-child family classes cover ages 3 to 6 or 7 to 15.
Private events make up much of the business. Corporate groups book the Chopped Competition, Food Truck Wars or Cupcake Wars. Adult parties can choose a chef-led dinner menu, such as Italian, Mexican, French or tapas. Kids birthday parties come with a themed cake, decorations and paper goods.
In summer, the school runs four-day camps for ages 7 to 15, with three-hour morning and afternoon sessions. The Eden Prairie lineup includes Food Show Favorites, Is It Cake and Pasta Palooza. The school has a 5-star Google rating from 12 reviews. Reviewers often mention chefs by name, including Chef Mary, who taught a sushi class.

Adult classes are for ages 16 and up and kids classes are for ages 7 to 15. Family classes pair one adult with a child aged 3 to 6 or 7 to 15.
Private events start at $125 per person and run 2.5 hours. There is a $900 minimum, plus an 18% gratuity, a 10% planning fee and a 2.5% card fee.
The $400 package covers up to 10 guests and lasts 90 minutes. It includes a two-layer vanilla cake, decorations, themed paper goods and tablecloths. Each additional guest costs $40, and parties can take up to 20 kids.
The school will try to accommodate allergies but cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment. It asks you to get in touch before booking.
Camps run four days, usually Monday through Thursday. Morning sessions are 9am to 12pm and afternoon sessions are 1pm to 4pm.
