Montclair kitchen running adult Sip & Cook wine nights and school-holiday kids camps
Montclair Culinary Academy runs two kinds of programs from its Valley Road kitchen in Montclair. Adults come for Sip & Cook evenings. These run three hours, 6 to 9pm, cost $185, and pair a cuisine with wine. This fall that means French Cooking with Wine on November 14, Italian Pasta & Cuisine From Puglia on November 21, and a Fall Harvest night with Napa and Santa Barbara wines. A Sunday afternoon Holiday Pie Baking class is Bake & Take, so you leave with your pies. It costs $175.
Kids make up the other half. When New Jersey schools close for the Teachers Conference or Veterans Day, the academy runs one-day camps from 9am to 1pm for ages 8 and up at $160. Options include Sweet Shop Bake Camp and a Cooking & Knife Skills day. In summer it runs themed weeks at $850, such as British Bake Week and Chopped Jr. Mystery Baskets. There is also a shorter Teen Week for ages 15 to 18 at $450.
Companies can book team building events, and the academy also hosts private parties.
