Small hands-on dinner classes in Chef Catalina's Sacramento home kitchen, max eight guests
Picnic List is Chef Catalina's home cooking school in Sacramento. She has 15 years of professional chef experience. Classes take place in her own kitchen, and you get the address a few days before class. Groups run from three to eight guests, so it feels more like a dinner party than a lecture.
Each class is hands-on. The group cooks a four to five course meal together, then sits down to eat it. The menus are built around a single cuisine: homemade pasta and Italian dishes, Thai, French classics, Spanish dishes and Japanese temaki hand rolls. Classes start at 6 or 7 PM and last about two and a half to three hours. Aprons, knives and tools are provided. You can bring your own drink.
Recipes arrive by email afterward, scaled down to two to four servings so they're easy to cook at home. Catalina is back from maternity leave with new dates on the calendar. The school holds a 5 rating from 31 Google reviews.
