Vitis House is a drinks school, not a cooking school. It teaches WSET certification courses in wine, beer, sake and spirits from a classroom at 1053 E Whitaker Mill Rd in Raleigh, and runs courses in Norfolk too. Wine runs from Level 1 to Level 3, in person and online. Beer Levels 1 and 2 are taught in person or online, while sake and spirits are online only. Course materials and exam fees are included.
Founder Doreen Colondres is a chef, cookbook author and wine and sake educator. Alongside the certifications, the school runs shorter tasting classes such as Sensory 101, Perception vs. Palate and Champagne & Friends. It also leads wine trips to Rioja and Ribera del Duero in Spain.
