Sur La Table at North Hills is a kitchen store on Six Forks Road with a teaching kitchen inside. Public classes run 2 to 2½ hours and are capped at 20 people. You cook in a group of four at a shared, fully equipped workstation with a chef instructor guiding you. Then you eat the dishes family-style with your station group. Portions are generous tastings, not full entrées, and the recipes arrive by email afterward.
There are also 1-hour short format classes built around a single technique. These run at specialty stations for up to four guests, and no food is served. Online classes run live on Zoom and are priced per household.
Private events at North Hills take groups of up to 20. Menus can be adjusted for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and allergy needs, and cancelling needs 14 days' notice. The store has a 4.9 Google rating from 2,178 reviews. It also sharpens knives for $8 each.

In-store classes start at $49 per person, and the price depends on the type of class. Online classes start at $49 per household. Private event pricing depends on the menu, guest count and format, and you get a quote from the store's event team.
Most in-store classes last 2 to 2½ hours, and specialty baking classes can run up to 3 hours. You cook the menu in a group of four at a shared workstation, sample each dish and get the recipes by email.
Most classes are for ages 14 and up, and minors must attend with a paying adult. Some classes are 18 and up, which is noted on the class page.
