Sur La Table

Sur La Table in Hyde Park Village is a kitchen store at 711 South Dakota Ave with a teaching kitchen inside. Classes are hands-on. You cook in a group of four at a shared, fully equipped workstation with a chef instructor guiding you. Then you eat what you made family-style with your station. Expect tasting portions rather than full entrées. Recipes arrive by email afterward.

Standard classes run 2 to 2½ hours and are capped at 20 people. Specialty baking classes can run up to 3 hours. Short format classes last 1 hour, focus on one technique and serve no food. In-store classes start at $49 per person. Most are for ages 14 and up, and minors must attend with a paying adult.
