Sur La Table

Sur La Table at St. Johns is a kitchen store on River City Drive with its own in-store teaching kitchen. Classes are fully hands-on. You join a shared station of up to four people and cook the whole menu with a professional chef instructor. Then your station shares the dishes family-style. Recipes arrive by email afterward. Most classes run 2 to 2½ hours and cap at 20 people. Shorter one-hour technique sessions run at specialty stations, and no food is served at those.

Public classes start at $49 per person, and prices vary by class. Most are for ages 14 and up, and minors must come with a paying adult. You stand for the whole class, so wear flat, closed-toe shoes. The store holds a 4.7 Google rating from 833 reviews.

The same kitchen hosts private events for birthdays, showers and corporate team building, for groups of up to 20. Menus can be adjusted for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and allergy needs. Live online classes over Zoom are also available.
