Adriene Rathbun Cooking Classes

Adriene Rathbun has taught cooking classes from her own home kitchen in Wichita since 2009, under the name Social. She credits her love of entertaining to her Lebanese heritage and a family where home-cooked meals were a nightly ritual. She has also written a weekly food column for the Wichita Eagle since 2016 and published her own Social Cookbook.

Classes now take place at her home in Eastborough, and you get the address when you book. The current class is the Thanksgiving Dulce de Leche Apple Pie, on November 18 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. It's a make-and-take class. You watch a crust demonstration, assemble your own pie and take it home to bake now or on Thanksgiving Day. Coffee, mimosas and brunch come with the class.

Groups top out at 8 people, so it feels like a gathering at a friend's house. Adriene says the pie class sells fastest of anything she teaches. You book by text and pay by Venmo or check.
