Team building with a chef running the room
Mark Arts is a nonprofit arts center at 1307 N. Rock Road in Wichita. It started in 1920 as the Wichita Art Association. Most of its program is visual art, like paint nights, printmaking and ceramics. The building also has a culinary studio with individual work stations, cooktops and appliances, and culinary workshops run alongside the art classes. This fall's featured cooking class is Kids in the Kitchen for ages 8 to 12, with late-morning sessions from Oct. 24 to Nov. 21.
The kitchen is also a popular spot for private parties. It seats 18, or up to 36 when the education commons is added. Each party includes chef instruction, ingredients and the finished meal, served on ceramic dinnerware with Riedel glassware. Menus range from Dessert Delights to Top-of-the-Line Cuisine, with gluten-free and plant-based options. Culinary aides are on hand and help with clean-up.
It's a good fit for parents looking for a kids' cooking class and for hosts planning a group dinner or a work event. Google reviewers give it 4.7 stars across 108 reviews.
