Bilingual art and cooking classes for Brooklyn kids, led by Argentine founder Luciana
CASA LU Art Space is a small, home-based art studio and kitchen for kids in Brooklyn. Luciana Gambarino founded it. She studied visual arts in Buenos Aires and later ran a tapas bar in Palermo with her brother, where she taught weekend cooking and baking classes for kids. Here, cooking comes mixed with art and Spanish immersion.
The core is an after-school program for kindergarten to 4th grade, now at 304 Bond St., with pickup from several local public schools. COCINA days focus on cooking in Spanish: knife skills, doughs, soups, and Hispanic and Argentinian recipes. On COCINARTE days, kids cook one week and do art the next. Seasonal camps in Gowanus run 9 to 3 and include week-long Culinary Arts camps on doughs and world cuisine. Ingredients are organic, and kids taste what they cook and take food home.
Families and adults can also book custom private sessions in their own kitchen in the NYC area, or online, covering dishes like Argentinian empanadas, paella and potato gnocchi. The school holds a 5 rating from 11 Google reviews.

The after-school program is for kindergarten to 4th grade and is tailored to ages 5 to 9. Camps take ages 5 to 10.
Some programs are in English only and some add Spanish immersion. The immersion classes teach through conversation, games, cooking and creative activities.

Yes. Private sessions are held in your home kitchen in the NYC area or online. They cost $120 for one person plus $80 for each additional person, up to 6, and ingredients are not included.
Class packages and camp fees are final. If Casa Lu can't start a class on the planned date, you can join a wait list or get a full refund.
