About Class Cooking
Class Cooking is a commercial kitchen classroom at 110 E. 15th St in downtown Vancouver, right next to Burnt Bridge Cellars. Chef Kim Mahan built it after years of teaching from her home kitchen. She trained in the Clark College Culinary Program and spent time cooking in Barcelona. Kim retired at the end of October 2023 and no longer teaches here.
Two guest chefs now teach in the kitchen. Fabi Donnelly of Not Just Baked lists her classes on Eventbrite. Tyler Anastasio of WildSalt Studio takes bookings on WildSaltStudio.com. The school's newsletter lists what's coming up.
The school describes its classes as small, hands-on and built around a full meal. A typical session covers 4 or 5 recipes, with techniques and shortcuts, and runs about 3 hours. Wine pairing dinners take about 2 hours. Every class needs a reservation. Sold-out classes have a waiting list, and you can join it by phone or email.
