Team building with a chef running the room
EATZ is a cooking school and event space on Pico Boulevard in Los Angeles. Owner and chef Niki Tehranchi practiced law before training at Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Hollywood. She opened EATZ in 2008 in a small West Hollywood studio. Her idea is that a cooking class should feel like a dinner party, not a lecture.
Classes are fully hands-on and run about three hours, including time to sit down and eat what you made. Cocktails and wine keep coming all class. Most classes run 7 to 10 PM, plus weekend brunches. The menus travel: A Night in Florence cooks Tuscan dishes, One Night in Bangkok makes Thai food from scratch, and there are sushi, fresh pasta and tequila nights. Chef instructors include Cori VonMoon and Marita de la Torre. Marita grew up cooking Mexican and Tex-Mex food in Brownsville, Texas, and has taught at EATZ since 2016.
Every class opens with basics like knife skills, so beginners fit in fine. The school also hosts private parties and corporate team building. It holds a 4.8 Google rating from 53 reviews.
