Kids’ cooking school · San Jose
After-school kids' cooking club in San Jose, run by a registered dietitian
Food Explorers Club is the after-school cooking program from Diets and Life, a kids' nutrition business in San Jose. Founder Purvi runs it. She is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with a Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition from San Jose State University, and she is ServSafe certified. Before starting the club, she worked in a hospital helping kids and families with nutrition-related conditions.
The classes are hands-on and built for children. Kids learn age-appropriate skills like food prep and knife safety. They cook recipes from many cuisines, not only American food. Picky eaters get special attention. Purvi uses the five senses and descriptive words to make kids curious about whole foods they haven't tried yet. Her recipes include dishes like a watermelon poke bowl.
The club suits parents who want their child to build real kitchen skills and a healthier relationship with food. Kids work in groups, so teamwork and social skills are part of every class. The club has a 5-star Google rating from 11 reviews. To sign up, contact the club directly.
