North Seattle caterer's teaching kitchen for private parties and team cook-off competitions
Kitchen Coach Cooking School is the teaching side of Mangia Bene Catering, a North Seattle caterer at 850 NE 88th St. The kitchen is a large licensed space built for teaching, with its own dining area. The house motto sums it up: you come, you cook, you eat. Instructors are trained food industry professionals.
The school currently runs on private bookings. Adult public classes are on hold, and you can ask to be notified when they resume. Groups of at least 8 choose from a few formats. In the $125 Private Cooking Class, guests cook, serve themselves and help clean up. The $155 party adds appetizers, wait staff and tables set with linen and china. Two $165 competition classes split guests into teams to improvise dishes, or baked goods in the Great American Baking Competition, judged by blind taste test.
It suits office team building, birthdays, showers and family reunions better than a solo cook looking for a single seat. The kitchen fits 20 cooks and seats 50 for a meal. Google reviewers rate it 5 from 8 reviews.
