Where do the pasta parties happen?

At your own home or a friend's home. The service area is Staten Island, NY and parts of New Jersey.

How many people can come?

Between 10 and 20. Smaller groups are charged the 10 person minimum.

$80 per person. There is a $40 travel fee for Staten Island parties and for New Jersey parties 30 minutes or more from Matawan, NJ.

All ingredients for the dough and sauces, all tools such as kneading mats, pasta rolling machines and drying racks, aprons, two pasta dishes served at the end, and a take-home chef hat.

Oh, The Pastabilities NYC brings a pasta class to your home. The instructor, Lauren, arrives with the ingredients, pasta rolling machines, drying racks, aprons and chef hats. Your group of 10 to 20 then makes dough by hand from a blend of imported Italian flours and eggs. Each party covers two fresh pastas and two sauces, which the host picks ahead of time. It ends with everyone eating what they made. Parties run 2.5 to 3 hours.

The business started after a solo trip to Florence in 2018, when the founder took a pasta class in the hills of Tuscany. Back home she practiced with the same tools, and teaching her family made her want to teach others.

Parties cover Staten Island and parts of New Jersey. Slots are Friday evening, Saturday afternoon or evening, and Sunday afternoon. The cost is $80 per person, and groups under 10 pay the 10 person minimum. Hosts supply a table big enough for everyone, a 4 burner stove, eating utensils and two serving bowls.
