Culinary Craft Workshop is a recreational cooking school in a commercial kitchen at 75 Mellor Avenue in downtown Catonsville. Chef instructors teach regional, ethnic and skills classes. The range covers American, European, Asian, brunch, comfort food and baking. Classes mix hands-on cooking with chef demonstration, and at the end you sit down to eat what you made. It is BYOB, and the school provides wine glasses, bottle openers and ice. Google reviewers rate it 4.9 from 423 reviews.
Families get a lot here. Parent & Child classes such as Chinese Take Out, Ravioli and Ramen run about three hours. Saturday morning and Sunday adult classes are open to all ages, as long as kids come with a participating adult.
Groups of up to 24 can book a chef-led private event of about three hours, with menus like Tapas, Street Tacos and Greek Favorites. Groups of 25 to 35 get a more social format: chefs cook while guests mingle and eat. One-on-one private lessons run Tuesdays through Thursdays at noon or 1 PM, and Joanie Robinson handles the bookings.
