About this class
Sushi night is coming to the Cooking School! In Sushi Night: Roll, Fill & Build, you'll work alongside our chef to learn approachable techniques for creating sushi favorites at home—from preparing the all-important rice to rolling, filling, slicing, and building your own combinations. We'll begin with the foundation: sushi rice. You'll learn how to properly cook, season, cool, and handle the rice before putting those skills to work creating Sushi Rolls. Practice filling, rolling, shaping, and slicing while learning how to balance flavors and textures. Next, you'll make Onigiri, traditional Japanese rice balls with flavorful fillings, before creating your own Poke Bowl layered with rice, proteins, vegetables, sauces, and toppings. For dessert, you'll prepare Sticky Coconut Rice with Fresh Mango, pairing creamy coconut-infused rice with sweet, ripe mango for a refreshing finish.
