Kitchen store at Bayshore with hands-on classes cooked in teams of four
Sur La Table in Glendale is a kitchen store at Bayshore with a teaching kitchen inside. Classes are hands-on. You cook in a group of four at a shared, fully equipped workstation with a chef instructor guiding you. Then you eat the dishes family-style with your station. Public classes are capped at 20 people, and most run 2 to 2½ hours.
The fall calendar mixes baking with dinner menus. Bread Science: Sourdough Starter, Rustic Homemade Breads and Decadent Autumn Macarons sit next to a Four-Course Tuscan Dinner and several date nights, including Cozy Autumn Steakhouse and French Countryside Evening. Cut Like a Pro covers knife skills, and Coffee Like a Pro suits anyone with a new espresso machine. Family Fun: Halloween Cookies is a class for families.
In-store classes start at $49 per person. The store also runs private classes for birthdays, friend groups and corporate team building, with menus that can be adjusted for vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free guests. Most classes are for ages 14 and up, and minors must come with a paying adult. The store has a 4.1 Google rating from 77 reviews.

If you cancel 48 or more hours before class, you can choose a full refund, a virtual gift card or a switch to another class. Inside 48 hours there are no refunds, but you can send someone in your place.
Some locations allow beer and wine only, depending on local rules. Call the Glendale store to check before your class.
You get a generous tasting portion of each dish rather than full entrée sizes, and the recipes are emailed to you afterward.
