with Emily Baron Welcome autumn with a little swirl! In this hands-on baking class, you’ll learn how to make a light, fluffy pumpkin sponge cake that becomes the perfect canvas for a tangy cream cheese filling. We’ll cover essential techniques for avoiding cracks in your cake. You’ll also learn the fun technique of piping a decorative pattern onto the cake before baking, creating a beautiful patterned Swiss roll that’s just as delightful to look at as it is to eat.

The Asheville Kitchen is a small recreational cooking studio with a full calendar of savory and sweet classes. Classes are capped at 8 people working across 4 cooktops. Unless a class is labeled Demonstration, you cook the whole menu yourself. Some classes have you working alone and others in pairs, so if you come by yourself you may be paired with another student.
